Overseas Internships

Overseas Internship (OI)

Overseas Cooperative Education (OCE) is a training class, which students enroll in the overseas training course to train and participate in special projects in relation to their academic background which may take place with approved academic institutions and operating organizations abroad, in either the public or private sector. Internship standard operating procedures are in compliance with Faculty of Engineering announcement pertaining to Overseas Cooperative Education.

Student Qualifications

  • Active undergraduate students are to have satisfactorily completed all course requirements of at least 5 regular semesters in accordance with KMITL stipulation governing curriculum plans, with a grade average of no less than 2.50 in the last regular semester (grade average of five regular academic semesters) prior to enrolling in the Program.
  • Students are required to have completed an orientation process in preparation for the course, in areas such as orientation and language proficiency, as determined by the Committee.
  • Enrolling students must be prequalified and approved by both the Committee and the partnering Hosts abroad.
  • The Program is a 6-credit course based on full-time operational work. Once enrolled, students will not be able to enroll in other courses with overlapping time tables. Enrollment may take place in accordance with stipulated Program guidelines, only.

Overseas Summer Training (OST)

Overseas Summer Training (OST) is a program in which students training class and research in a laboratory in academic institutions and organizations abroad between June -July. The total duration of the Summer Internship must be no less than 4 weeks. The Summer Training result consideration uses grade S (Satisfactory), which means the student passed the internship, and grade U (Unsatisfactory)

Student Qualifications

  • Third-year undergraduate student.
  • Have good command of written and spoken English
  • Follow all student exchange rules, meet exchange requirements and also be responsible for all expenses related to the exchange such as airfare, insurance, food expenses and personal expenses.
