Registration and Enrollment

Academic Activities Calendar Year 2020

Registration and Enrollment

    • First year students have to register course online during period that set by Office of Registrar. Compulsory courses are pre-registered by Office of Registrar but elective courses student have to register on your own. It is important to register for elective courses during the registration period, if you did not register during the period then there are ฿300 fines.

    • This year course registration period is from January 11 – 31, 2020. Course registration for second semester are from (TBA). This is also applied the same rule if you did not do course registration within registration period there are ฿300 fines. In second semester you have to register for your all your courses including compulsory courses. Please check study plan of your program to find the compulsory courses that you have to register in second semester.
    • If during course registration period for semester 2, there are grade of the courses in the first semester have not come out yet and that courses happen to be prerequisites course of the course that you have to take in the second semester. It is the best to drop that course out and register for that course later. For example, Physics 1 is prerequisite course for Physics 2. If grade of Physics 1 has not come out yet, you have to drop out Physics 2 course, as system will lock if you try to register for Physics 2 while grade of Physic 1 has not come out yet. Therefore, in order to avoid ฿300 fines, drop Physics 2 course and only register the course that you can register. You can register for Physics 2 course during add – drop period.

Prerequisites

It is important to check courses in the first year which courses are prerequisites courses for the second-year courses. I suggest that you to maintain grade of the course that are prerequisite courses for your second year courses, please do careful consideration before drop these courses. For example, Advanced Calculus is perquisite course for many second year courses. If you happen to dropped Advanced Calculus then you cannot take some of the second year course that offered in the 1st semester of your second year because you have to take Advanced Calculus first in the 2nd semester of your second year. Advanced calculus course is only offered once a year. You have to wait until 2nd semester to take Advanced Calculus, therefore second year course that offered in the 1st semester of your second year, you have to take it in your third year. You might have to extend to fifth year in order to complete all the required credits for the graduation. It is important to study hard and maintain a good grade in all the course in order to avoid extend to fifth year.

Changes to Registration

You can add and drop during add drop period that set by Office of Registrar. This year add period is from TBA. Drop period is from TBA. Please keep in mind these dates. After these dates, you are no longer can add or drop courses. How to add or drop course are by going on to www.reg.kmitl.ac.th, log in using your student number and password. After you add or drop course, please check again if you have added or dropped course successfully or not.

Academic Credits

Each semester there is limit to how much credit you can register. Credit limit is 23 credits you cannot register more than 23 credit in one semester. Please check your study plan to see how many course credits require for you to register. For our international program courses, usually there are 3 credits course or 4 credits courses. Only Academic Listening and Speaking/Academic Reading and Writing that is 4 credit but it is audit which mean you don’t get credit for taking these courses. There is only Robotics and AI program students that they are taking Academic Listening and Speaking/Academic Reading and Writing course that has credit, which are 3 credits and students get credits for taking these courses. Please remember that for Robotics and AI program students course code of Academic listening and speaking/ Academic Reading and Writing are different from other engineering programs’ Academic Listening and Speaking/ Academic Reading and Writing courses.

Remark: Please note that how section is organized are different every semester. Information above is only relevant to this semester 1/2019 only.

If you registered in the wrong section, your name would not show up on the exam name list. Check your student account at www.reg.kmitl.ac.th often in order to avoid you name not showing up on the course name list and exam name list, because if your name is not showing up mean the course that you are taking/been going to, would not show up on your transcript.

If you are taking some of elective courses you happened to not like that course and you decided not to go to that class anymore, please go drop that course in student account on www.reg.kmitl.ac.th as well. Not just stop going to that class and forgot to drop that course during the drop course period because what will happen is that this course will show up on your transcript with F. Since you are not going to class and did not take final exam, teacher will give you F automatically as you did not take final exam and your name is still show up on the student name list of that course.
